The Special Secretariat for the World Cup (Secopa) announced through the official gazette on December 27 the cancellation of the Scheme of Differentiated Contracts (RDC) of the company responsible for building the Fan Fest in Cuiabá.
The official Fan Fest will be held at the Parque de Exposições Jonas Pinheiro, in the Breeders Association of Mato Grosso (Acrimat), as part of the Responsibility Matrix signed by the state with FIFA.
According to a spokesperson of Secopa, the RDC was never canceled, but postponed for adjustments. In August, Secopa approved the hiring of the architectural and engineering firm RFQ Marques, responsible for the basic and executive projects of construction of the Fan Fest in the capital.

The president of the Rural Union of Cuiabá, Ricardo Arruda, responsible for managing the Acrimat, said Secopa contacted the entity in early December to present the Fan Fest’s project, which should occupy 30.000 m2 of the 154,613,000 m2 avaiable in the Park. Also, he assured that another meeting with the secretariat will be taking place soon.
The World Cup will force a change in the dates for the Agricultural Fair 2014. The Fan Fest project will provide room for a total of 30 thousand fans spread between two stands, a central arena and private cabins. Also, there will be room for bars, restaurants and stores.
