After the success of the hospitality training undertaken for FIFA Confederations Cup, McDonald’s University will, once again, let it’s services be available for the whole group. The company is also sponsoring the official restaurant of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
Internationally recognized for their personel and leadership training, McDonald’s will offer again, to all candidates to volunteer, a training program for certification in hospitality services, until the end of the tournament.
The program is now available and consists of two stages. The first phase is online, being held at the FIFA website; and the last stage will happen in a classroom, a few weeks before the start of the games bringing together approximately 15,000 selected people.
“Our experience during the FIFA Confederations Cup was very positive. Well, there could´nt be a different result, after all, our people love to receive guests, and we also love football. Our job was simply to sharpen the natural hospitable spirit that our group of volunteers have. Nothing too different from what we do every day in our restaurants. That way, everyone wins. Tourists, spectators and visitors – the event – and especially our country.”, said David Grinberg, Sports Marketing Manager for Latin America of Arcos Dorados, the company that operates McDonald’s brand in the south american continent.
The 2014 version of the “McDonald’s Course of Hospitality” is even more interactive and geared towards the everyday situations of the volunteers. Through a playful method and using practical examples lived in the Confederations Cup, the lessons contain concepts regarding good practices of interaction with the public, and also, tips on how to deal with people from different cultures.
Lasting about 40 minutes, the course is based on three pillars: knowledge, skills and attitude. Upon completing the program, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from McDonald’s University, internationally recognized as a pioneer in corporate education.
This year, for example, McDonald’s University won the Top of Mind award from O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper as one of the best corporate universities in the country.
