With less than six months left until the start of the World Cup 2014 – in which Manaus will be one of the sub-headquarters of the event – some news have been announced.
Among them, the Fifa Fan Fest, which will be happening from June 12 to July 13 at the Ponta Negra tourist complex, with a total area of 36 thousand square meters, seeking to attract football fans to watch the games to the sound of numerous rhythms. This decision is normal, since the first edition, held in 2006 during the World Cup in Germany, was a total success.
It is expected to attract 35,000 people per day, since the Fan Fest is free and open to the general public, according to the coordination of the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil – Amazonas.
Still regarding the event, with rights to local and national artistic performances and cultural attractions to be invited to the party. However, because it is a FIFA event in partnership with Rede Globo, none of the announced national artists is yet confirmed.
Another highlight is, undoubtedly, the structure that will be built for the 24 days. With programming starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until midnight, the place that will receive the audience will feature a main stage – amphitheater – which will have a large screen, plus two other screens in strategic locations to World Cup games transmitiom, a food court, sports area and other activities.
With an investment of R$ 10 million, according to information passed to Manaus City Hall, the amount will be invested in structures that serve the public in the best possible way, while offering safety and hygiene, chemical toilets, food court, fencing perimeter, artists logistics and leasing of generators according to the opening hours of the event.
The City Hall will have nine official sponsor companies linked to the event, which will acquire advertising spots, as well as area lease. Only a small portion of the amount will be paid by the City Hall. This agreement had already been set by FIFA in all branch offices that will host matches of the World Cup.
Also according to the 2014 World Cup official website, the Fan Fest 2010, happened even in cities that were not part of the event that year, such as Rio de Janeiro, for example.
The marketing director of FIFA, Thierry Weil, said that the Fan Fest provides a strong platform to enhance the fan experience at the World Cup to FIFA and the local organizing committees, attracting millions of people even being outside the stadiums. “We are very pleased with the enthusiasm shown by the sub-headquarters so far and look forward to making this incredible party happen together in 2014.”
