At Stochkholm during the summer, many teens and young adults like to rest in parks or participate in concerts held in the city. The problem? Some do not hesitate to leave trash on the ground, including cans of beer or soda.
Based on this observation, DDB Stockholm and McDonald’s have devised an unusual and brilliant marketing operation now accepting currency as “credit cards , coins and cans.”
To communicate the concept, the pacifier size panels were arranged in the city allowing passers to go snatch a black garbage bag. On display was presented possible exchanges : a recycled can is equal to a Swedish kronor ( 0.11 euros). So with 10 cans, you could get a hamburger, a cheeseburger for 20 and 40 cans a Big Mac.
A really smart idea that offers a reward for the most own citizens and organizes a competition for street cleaning … that would be welcome in many countries .
