Abu Dhabi prepares for the Red Bull Air Race 2015

The opening race returns to the Middle East on 13 and 14 February, with Britain's Nigel Lamb committed to defend the front title to two rival weight: the Austrian Hannes Arch and his compatriot Paul Bonhomme.

In keeping with tradition, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship is back to the Middle East for one more season start. The opening race returns to the coastline of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on 13 and 14 february, with Britain’s Nigel Lamb committed to defend the title against two rival weight: the Austrian Hannes Arch and his compatriot Paul Bonhomme.

Responsible for the revival of air racing, Red Bull Air Race World Championship has nurtured over the past decade the aspirations of millions of fans around the four corners of the globe. It will be the eighth time that Abu Dhabi receives the F1 circus of heaven.

The current World Champion, the British Nigel Lamb, has no hesitation in stating that “this will be a particularly exciting and competitive season.” Lamb was fifth in Abu Dhabi last year and runner in 2010.

Winner of three of the seven stages contested so far, Paul Bonhomme legend does not hide that he is prepared to fight for another victory. “You step is already part of the landscape of the Red Bull Air Race pilots and between the enthusiasm is great.” Said the Austrian.

In addition to the sports biggest names, highlighting the North American Michael Goulian and return to the entry of two rookies – the Frenchman François Le Vot and the Spanish Juan Velarde.

Equipped with modern today’s aircraft, the aces of the air give their best against the clock in a track bordered by huge pylons, reaching speeds above 300 km / hour at low altitude.
