Committee will support tourists during the World Cup

A committee is responsible for diagnosing last minute problems related to tourism such as accommodation, local pickup of tickets, food and transportation services.

On Jan. 20th, the Ministry of Tourism had a technical meeting to discuss the protection of tourists in Brazil during 2014 World Cup.

The meeting brought together spokesmen of the Federal Government and representatives of local bodies in the tourism sector as well as from other sectors involved in the making of the games Natal, Rio Grande do Norte State, the host city of the games.

The purpose of this meeting was to diagnose deficiencies and create mechanisms for rapid fulfillment of any conflicts between tourists and service providers during the 14 World Cup games.

A committee is responsible for diagnosing last minute problems related to tourism such as accommodation, local pickup of tickets, food and transportation services. “Our desire is to have tourists well served by and find easily representatives to address their demands” said the Brazilian minister of Tourism, Gaston Vieira. The Technical Committee is already orienting the cities where games will take place to prevent and sort out problems during the World Cup.

The committee involves representatives of the federal sphere as Ministries of Justice, Tourism, Health, Transport and Civil Aviation, among others.

Participating in the meeting of the local tourist agents, such as consumer protection agencies, departments of tourism and transportation, health surveillance, public safety associations, hotels , bars and restaurants, and travel agencies .
